The Glow Meter
Reading about chakras is cute. Actually breathing, moving and sitting still is where the glow is. Pick little practices, do them, tap “Did it”, and watch the number go up. It’s free ☁️
- Five kinds of practice. Breath, move, meditate, sound and ritual. Each counts for 20 points, so the only way to 100 is a little of everything. Balanced, like your chakras should be.
- Five on your list at a time. Soft focus.
- Streaks. One practice a day keeps it alive. Skip a day? Literally who cares, come back tomorrow.

Four rounds of box breathing
In for 4, hold for 4, out for 4, hold for 4. Four rounds. Sit tall, breathe through your nose, and follow the cloud on the box breathing guide if counting in your head is a lot.
4-7-8 breathing before bed
Tongue tip behind your top front teeth. In through the nose for 4, hold for 7, out through the mouth with a soft whoosh for 8. Four rounds, no more to start.
A five-minute grounding walk
Walk slowly for five minutes, phone in your pocket. Feel each foot land: heel, ball, toes. Barefoot on grass or sand if you can. Root chakra, but make it a stroll.
Two minutes of hip circles
Sit cross-legged, hands on your knees, and circle your torso slowly over your hips: ten one way, ten the other. Big, slow, like stirring honey.
Three minutes of sitting still
Set a timer for three minutes, close your eyes and just notice your breath. When your mind wanders, which it will, come back. That's the whole practice.
An 11-minute meditation
Sit tall, hands resting in your lap, eyes closed, for eleven minutes. Picture soft light at the top of your head. Every time you drift, come back to the light.
Chant LAM for three minutes
Sit grounded, palms down on your thighs, and chant LAM (rhymes with mom) low and slow on each exhale for three minutes. Root chakra, activated.
Climb the bija ladder
Chant each chakra's seed sound three times, root to crown: LAM, VAM, RAM, YAM, HAM, OM, then sit in silence for a minute. Let your voice get higher as you go up.
Three honest lines in a journal
Write three lines about how you actually feel today. No editing, no pretty handwriting, nobody reads it but you.
One creative hour, no goal
Spend an hour making something just for fun: a doodle, a playlist, a cake, a collage. It doesn't have to be good. That's literally the point.
